EFRAG names Kristian Koktvedgaard acting chair of its sustainability reporting board

EFRAG has appointed Kristian Koktvedgaard as acting chair of its Sustainability Reporting Board, effective immediately, according to ESG News.

The appointment followed a recommendation from EFRAG's Administrative Board and approval by its General Assembly.

Koktvedgaard has served on the board since it was established. He remains acting chair until the General Assembly appoints a permanent successor; the European Commission nominates a candidate after consulting the European Parliament and the Council.

The board advises on European Sustainability Reporting Standards, but the Commission decides whether the standards take effect.

EFRAG identified timely delivery of technical advice as a priority for the transition and flagged draft ESRS 40a as a central item of work.

In September, this publication reported that the revised ESRS reached the Official Journal, placing the 40a drafting alongside standards already delivered.
